SECONDARY school students enjoyed sweet success at a business conference in Rugby.

Year 12 pupils from Lawrence Sheriff School Lawrence Sheriff School is a selective boys' grammar school in Rugby in Warwickshire.  attended the event at Rugby School Rugby School, located in the town of Rugby, Warwickshire, is one of the oldest public schools in England and is one of the major co-educational boarding schools in the country.  and tried their hand at running a chocolate business.

It was led by the Industrial Careers Foundation and aimed to provide teenagers with an insight into the business world.

They tackled a series of business simulations including managing the imaginary chocolate company, discussing plans for a waste dump and producing and trying to sell prototype products.

Lawrence Sheriff Lawrence Sheriff or Lawrence Sheriffe (c1510-1567) was an Elizabethan gentleman and grocer to Elizabeth I who founded Rugby School.

Not much is known about Lawrence Sheriff's early life, but it is thought that he was born near St Andrew's Church in Rugby
 head teacher Peter Kent said: "The conference was a great success. Students from the two schools benefited hugely from being able to work together over the two days."
