Replica car to wow shoppers

A FAMOUS flying car has taken off from Huddersfield to its new home.

KD Decoratives, based at Lockwood, has built a replica of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for a shopping centre in Surrey.

The magnificent motor - based on the one from the famous film of the same name - will be the centrepiece of a summer travel theme at the Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames.

The car was made mainly from polystyrene, coated and painted by craftsmen at the KD Decoratives' Albert Street factory.

Heather Lugton, marketing and public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  manager for the 85-store Bentall Centre took delivery of the machine from KD Decoratives chairman Richard Kitchen-Dunn.

She said: "The centre has worked with KD Decoratives for more than 10 years.

"Once again, they have designed and produced another show-stopping scheme for us."

KD Decoratives specialises in creating attention-grabbing displays for shopping centres, hotels and cruise ships.

Staff are already hard at work designing and building animated and static displays for Christmas.
