William Zadel has resigned as president of Ciba Corning Diagnostics Corp., the company's diagnostic business unit, which was acquired on January 4, 1995, as part of Chiron's strategic partnership with Ciba-Geigy Limited. Zadel will remain president of Ciba Corning until a replacement is named; a search for his replacement has begun. Zadel will continue to represent Chiron in diagnostic industry organizations. Zadel joined Corning Corp. in 1983 and has served as Ciba Corning's president and chief executive officer since helping to form it in 1985. He is the immediate past chairman of the Health Industry Manufacturers Association.
