Charan worked in his family's shoe shop in northern India while growing up. Tej accompanied him at the time he filed his nomination. Chiranjeevi is also contesting from the Palkole Assembly seat in his native West Godavari district West Godavari (పశ్చిమ గోదావరి) is a district in Andhra Pradesh in India.
