John Costello, founder of Animark, the database of all microchipped animals in Ireland, welcomed the IKC's decision. He said: "Every week people ring us saying they've just found a stray dog. "If they bring the dog to a vet, the vet can read the microchip and we'll be able to identify the dog's owners." |
