Chip Gibson named president and publisher of Crown Publishing Group and an executive vice president of Random House Inc.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 1996--Alberto Vitale, chairman and chief executive officer of Random House Inc., announced today that Chip Gibson, executive vice president of the Crown Publishing Group and publisher of the Crown Trade Group, has been appointed president and publisher of the Crown Publishing Group, effective May 28.

Gibson has also been named an executive vice president of Random House Inc., and will serve on the Executive Committee. He will report to Vitale.

Gibson succeeds Michelle Sidrane, who is leaving the company to pursue new professional opportunities.

The Crown Publishing Group is a division of Random House Inc., which is the world's largest English-language general trade book publisher. Crown is a leading publisher of fiction and nonfiction non·fic·tion
