Chinn's history evening.


LOCAL historian and Mail columnist Carl Chinn Professor Carl Stephen Alfred Chinn MBE (born 6 September, 1956) is a historian, writer, radio presenter, magazine editor, newspaper columnist, media personality, local celebrity, and famous Brummie, whose working life has been devoted to the study and popularisation of the city of  is holding a special history evening at St Mary's Church in Pype Hayes Pype Hayes is an area in the north of the Erdington district of Birmingham in the West Midlands, England. It is located within the Tyburn ward. Etymology
The name of the area derives from a major landowner in Erdington called Henry de Pipe.

The event, at 7.30pm on Thursday July 9, is part a year of celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Erdington church.

The proceeds will be donated to Mercy Air South Africa. The goal of Mercy Air is to provide lasting aid to victims of natural and human disasters in the southern African region.
