Chinese foreign Minister may visit India next week.

New Delhi New Delhi (dĕl`ē), city (1991 pop. 294,149), capital of India and of Delhi state, N central India, on the right bank of the Yamuna River. , Jan. 3 (ANI): In a bid to defuse tension between India and Pakistan, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi may visit India next week.

On Yang's arrival, India is expected to provide evidence of Pakistani element's involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks.

Yang Jiechi will also hold a meeting with his Indian counterpart, Pranab Mukherjee on the latest developments in Indo-Pak relations trying calm down the things between two neighbours.

 meet at Vienna for granting waiver to New Delhi's nuclear trade.

Yang met Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Pranab Mukherjee and the two sides vowed to further step up cooperation and continuously enhance relationship between the two countries.

Talking on the Indo-Chinese border dispute Yang had said, "China will make joint efforts with India under relevant political guiding principles and hope the two countries can understand each other, make mutual concessions and adjustments so as to strive for an early agreement on a framework which would be fair, rational and acceptable for both sides on resolving bilateral border issue."

Yang had also expressed his willingness to make investment in Indian infrastructure during his last visit.

To defuse tensions between India and Pakistan following the Mumbai terror attacks, China had sent a seven-member delegation headed by its Deputy Foreign Minister, He Yafei, on a visit to the two neighboring nations.

Yafei had said that rising tension was not in the favour of India or Pakistan. He also emphasized the need to maintain peace and stability in the South Asian region. (ANI)
