Chinese art is going on show.


THE North East's first Chinese contemporary art show will be unveiled next week.

The collection of work from China's contemporary artists will open at Opus Gallery, Gosforth, Newcastle, on Thursday.

Called Brave New World Brave New World

Aldous Huxley’s grim picture of the future, where scientific and social developments have turned life into a tragic travesty. [Br. Lit.: Magill I, 79]

Brave New World
, the exhibition is to coincide with Chinese New Year Chinese New Year (Simplified Chinese: ; Traditional Chinese: ; Pinyin: ChūnjiĆ©), or Spring Festival  and will feature paintings from 11 artists.

Pieces from Shi Li Feng Li Feng (李豐) (d. 254) was an official of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period. He was a trusted official of the emperor Cao Fang, and did not follow the regent Sima Shi's wishes. In anger, Sima Shi killed him, falsely accused him of treason and killed his clan.  and Liu Xin-Tao, who have collectively exhibited across America, Europe and Asia, are be included.

Don Smith of Opus Art said: "We're delighted to be hosting a show of international distinction in Newcastle for this regional first.

"We have spent the past two years identifying China's finest contemporary art talent to present to our audience, enabling them to appreciate these groundbreaking pieces."
