China levies 20.9% anti-dumping tax on Taiwan-made Nylon 66.

Taipei, Oct. 15, 2009 (CENS)--The launch of U.S.'s anti-dumping investigations on imports of China-made steel pipes is causing a domino effect as China's Department of Commerce announced it will levy 5.3% to 37.5% anti-dumping tax on imported Nylon 66 made by U.S., Italy and United Kingdom for five years; while China also levies 20.9% anti-dumping tax on Taiwan-made Nylon 66.

China's Department of Commerce said it began investigating, after receiving complaints filed by many domestic manufacturers of the product, and decided to launch anti-dumping tax on imported Nylon 66.

A report by China's Xinhua News Agency says that Nylon 66 is extensively used in injected plastic, spun yarn and material-texture improvement in electronics, electric appliance, military device, automotive, railroad ancillaries and textile sectors.

China's Department of Commerce noted China's Nylon 66 manufacturers have seen rising financial hardship since January 2007 due to the sharp rise in imports and decline in product prices. Since then, China's Nylon 66 manufacturers have been in the red and seen decreasing investment returns.
