China is Not Only the Largest Dyestuff Production Country in the World but Also the Largest Global Dyestuff Export Country According to Report.

As far as the dyestuff output concerned, China has ranked the first place in the world, accounting for 1/3 of the global output. Currently, the varieties of the dyestuff amounted to more than 1200, and about 600 of which are the common products. China is not only the largest dyestuff production country in the world, but also the largest global dyestuff export country, and its dyestuff export volume accounts for more than 20% in the world trade volume.

The total output of China dyestuff industry amounted to 1.153 million tons in 2006, up 11.5% year-on-year. The dyestuff output increase fluctuated much in 2001-2006, and the dyestuff in China was mainly used in textiles, especially for the textiles exported to EU and the US.

Under the restriction of the relevant state industry polices and environment protection codes, China dyestuff production concentration has improved continuously after the elimination and integration of market competition for nearly 20 years, and dyestuff production concentration in China is improved continuously. However, there are still more than 500 dyestuff manufacturers in China, which mainly concentrate in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai Shanghai (shăng`hī`, shäng`hī`), city (1994 est. pop. 12,980,000), in, but independent of, Jiangsu prov., E China, on the Huangpu (Whangpoo) River where it flows into the Chang (Yangtze) estuary. , Tianjin, Liaoning, Shandong, Hubei, and Hebei etc. As the national environment inspection and monitoring strength becomes more and more powerful, some high-consumption, low value-added and large varieties are transferring to the provinces and regions in the west.
