China Southern Reporting Near Record Transpacific PAX Loads; China's Largest Airline Strong In December `01 Numbers.

China Southern Airlines (NYSE:ZNH) (HKSE:1055), the largest airline in The People's Republic of China is pleased to announce that it recorded near record-breaking passenger loads on its transpacific service between China and the United States for the month of December 2001.

China Southern recorded an 90% outboard load factor in December from Los Angeles International Airport to Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, China. "From all reports, inbound traffic from China was as strong or better than the 90% departing from Los Angeles," added Clever.

In 2001 - system-wide - China Southern Airlines operated 365,000 flight

hours, 208,000 takeoffs/landings and carried 19 Million passengers.
