China Southern Airlines will launch its new international cargo service with a dedicated Boeing 747-200 freighter between Shenzhen (located near Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov. ) and Chicago on Wednesday, April 12.

China Southern Airlines' new Boeing 747-200 service, listed as CZ Flight 391, will depart from Shenzhen every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoon and arrive the same day in Chicago with a technical stop in Anchorage, Alaska. The return flight back to China, listed as CZ Flight 392, will depart every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evening.

China Southern Airlines' new Shenzhen-Chicago service has developed from the recent bilateral agreement between the United States and the People's Republic of China, signed last year. Golden, Colo.-based Atlas Air will operate China Southern Airlines' new Boeing 747-200 cargo service under a long-term agreement that covers aircraft, crews, insurance and maintenance.
