China Southern Airlines Joins Hands With Major University; EMBA Tsinghua University Students Receive Gold MasterCards.

BEIJING -- China Southern Airlines (NYSE:ZNH) (HKSE:1055) (SHA:600029) -- www.cs-air.com/en -- the largest airline in The People's Republic of China, has made a major gift to Tsinghua University, one of China's renowned higher educational institutions.

The China Southern Air Holding Company (parent group of China Southern Airlines) has presented China Southern Airlines' Sky Pearl Club Gold MasterCards to all EMBA students enrolled in the Tsinghua Management College. China Southern Airlines' gift presentation was made at a ceremony held at the Shangri-La Hotel during a Key Customer Signing Agreement between China Southern and Tsinghua University.

"It is important for China Southern Airlines, as our nation's largest airline, to offer valued air service through our Sky Pearl Club frequent flyer program to our key customers," said Mr. Liu Shaoyong, President, China Southern Air Holding Company and China Southern Airlines.

Also in attendance at this event was Mr. Li Kun, Executive Vice President, China Southern Airlines; Mr. Chen Xi, Party Secretary, Tsinghua University; Mr. Kang Kejun, Vice Principal, Tsinghua University; Mr. Zhao Chunjun, Dean, Management College; and Mr. Xu Guang, Deputy President and Deputy General Manager, Greater China MasterCard International Organization.

Mr. Liu added that, "As China's largest airline and the nation's most notable university, both China Southern and Tsinghua will take advantage of this new partnership and share each other's resources to create a beneficial future for both organizations."

Situated on several former royal gardens of the Qing Dynasty, surrounded by a few historical sites in northwest Beijing is the campus of Tsinghua University. The garden-like landscape, with the Wanquan River meandering through, has inspired and motivated generations of students.
