 of China, carried 1.6 million passengers during the recently concluded Spring Festival -- more passengers carried than any Chinese airline during the same time period.

During a 40-day period from Jan. 9 to Feb. 17, China Southern Airlines operated 14,145 flights, including more than 2,500 additional and charter flights. China Southern Airlines also moved 40,500 tons of cargo, mail and luggage, an increase of 29.3% from the same period in year 2000.

China Southern Airlines dominated all other Chinese airlines during the same time period -- carrying 1.6 million passengers, accounting for 22% of the total number of passengers carried by all of the Chinese airlines.
