China Everbright Bank Deploys Kalignite Multivendor ATM Software.

), a nationwide commercial bank, has successfully completed the deployment of Kalignite multivendor automated teller machine automated teller machine (ATM), device used by bank customers to process account transactions. Typically, a user inserts into the ATM a special plastic card that is encoded with information on a magnetic strip.  (ATM) software across its entire estate.

In 2006 CEB decided to select an ATM multivendor software solution. It chose Kalignite based on its proven track record for multivendor ATM systems. The CEB ATM software project took just eight months from start to finish and was completely rolled out by November, 2006.

Mr. Li Jian, General Manager of the E-Banking Department, said "The ATM software project at CEB provides a very successful example for other middle size banks that are not yet using a multivendor ATM software platform. One major advantage for us is a much greater choice of ATM hardware now that we have the Kalignite multivendor ATM platform installed. This was in fact one of the most successful IT projects in CEB, and it led to my team winning the CEB award for the Outstanding Financial Information Technology Project of 2006."

CEB has over 1250 ATMs now deployed running Windows XP The previous client version of Windows. XP was a major upgrade to the client version of Windows 2000 with numerous changes to the user interface. XP improved support for gaming, digital photography, instant messaging, wireless networking and sharing connections to the Internet.  and Kalignite. It plans to deploy 250 more by the end of 2007. CEB's estate includes 17 different models of ATMs (including cash recycling recycling, the process of recovering and reusing waste products—from household use, manufacturing, agriculture, and business—and thereby reducing their burden on the environment.  ATMs) made by six different manufacturers. As a result of the ATM software project, all of the ATMs run the same Kalignite-based application.

KAL's development partner in China, Shenzen Zijin, is the supplier of the ATM application, which is built on the Kalignite Platform.
