China Energy Industry to Deploy Advanced Energy Metering Systems from MTC China; China's Vast Ertan Hydropower Project to Employ MTC's Commercial Electric Meters.

), China-American System Technology (CAST), and MTC China unveiled today that China provincial utilities have selected MTC China to provide advanced electric metering systems throughout China beginning in 1999.

MTC China will deliver 100,000 advanced commercial electric meters for use beginning in late 1999 as a key element in China's emerging power distribution system. MTC metering systems will be used for the Ertan Hydropower hy·dro·pow·er

MTC China will also provide to China provincial utilities 1.2 million residential PLC powerline carrier metering systems as the first phase of a nationwide electric system. The MTC PLC residential metering solution enable a single gateway meter to serve up to 300 residential meters using a single telephone line to communicate energy usage with the energy utility.
