China Broadband Corp. To Launch Wireless Broadband Internet Access In Chengdu High-Tech Development Zone, People's Republic of China.

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2001

China Broadband Corp. (OTCBB:CBBD) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Big Sky Network Canada Ltd., has entered into an agreement with the Chengdu High-Tech Development Zone in Sichuan province, People's Republic of China, to launch wireless broadband Internet access.

This High-Tech Zone was established in 1991, and consists of 120,000 permanent residents and approximately 7,000 enterprises, including some 310 foreign companies, such as Motorola (China) Electronics Ltd., Alcatel Communications System Co. Ltd., Siemens Optical Fibre Cables, SEI Optical Fibre Co., and MCIL Radio Communication Cables, who have invested, to date, in excess of US$1 billion in this High-Tech Zone.

In addition to providing reliable, low-cost Internet access with speeds in excess of 10 Mbs, China Broadband will offer its High-Tech Development Zone clients high security, private networks, data warehousing, web-hosting, business-to-business, and business-to-customer services, as well as IP Telephony when permitted by government regulations.
