China's PE Industry Sees Limited Domestic Producers, Concentrative Capacity and Low Self-Sufficiency.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c51555) has announced the addition of "China PE Market Research" to their offering.

Since 2000 the Asia-Pacific and Middle East have witnessed large PE capacity. In 2004, PE capacity in Asia reached 21.472mmt/yr, and China's ethylene ethylene (ĕth`əlēn') or ethene (ĕth`ēn), H2C=CH2, a gaseous unsaturated hydrocarbon. It is the simplest alkene.  capacity was 6.14mmt/yr, ranking third.

Among five general resins, PE consumption ranks first due to its wide use. China's PE industry sees limited domestic producers, concentrative capacity, obvious capacity distribution and low self-sufficiency.

Sinopec and PetroChina dominate China's PE production. Compared with overseas PE producers, China's PE producers are all mid/small scaled. East China is the key production base of HDPE HDPE

pipes. Northeast China Northeast China (Simplified Chinese: 中国东北; Traditional Chinese: 中國東北; Pinyin: , North China and Northwest China enjoy the largest capacity of LDPE LDPE

low-density polyethylene
and LLDPE LLDPE Linear Low Density Polyethylene . After 2005, China's PE capacity increased rapidly, and many domestic producers expanded capacity during 2005-2006.

China's PE capacity has expanded recently, while domestic demand is increasing rapidly. Therefore, demand still exceeds supply, and traders import goods to satisfy domestic demand. The Middle East is the largest PE import origin to China. In addition, both international and domestic PE industries always witness strong demand and slowly increasing capacity.

China's PE capacity increased rapidly in 2005. After the start-up of Shanghai Seccos unit in March, 2005, Yangzi-BASF and CSPC CSPC Center for the Study of Popular Culture
CSPC Center for Sex Positive Culture (Seattle, WA)
CSPC CNOOC and Shell Petrochemical Company Limited
CSPC Canadian Standard Product Code
launched their units in 2005. Domestic PE capacity will reach 5.73mmt/yr in 2005, up by 1.45mmt/yr from 2004.

This research report has been written following long-term study and data accumulation by Chemease, with data from State Statistics Bureau, China Customs, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (CPCIA CPCIA China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association ), Development Research Center of the State Council and relevant companies as referenced, indicating China's PE supply & demand, industrial development and industrial chain.
