First held in New York in 1983 with 120 exhibitors and 9,600 attendees, the show grew from the personal computer's early years to 550 vendors and more than this week. Chili!ASP is the only product that runs Active Server applications on web servers other than Microsoft's IIS (Internet Information Services) Microsoft's Web server. IIS runs under the server versions of Windows, adding HTTP server capability to the Windows operating system. 3.0. As the functional equivalent of Microsoft's Active Server, Chili!ASP can host Active Server Pages (World-Wide Web, programming) Active Server Pages - (ASP) A scripting environment for Microsoft Internet Information Server in which you can combine HTML, scripts and reusable ActiveX server components to create dynamic web pages. Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. 4.0 and Windows 95. Chili!Soft is also developing Chili!ASP for Lotus' Go and Domino Servers, Oracle's web servers, O'Reilly's WebSite, and a number of UNIX-based web servers.
