(ASP), today announced Chili!Soft ASP for Linux--a solution that enables developers using Microsoft(R) FrontPage(TM) to build and deploy robust, database-driven Web applications on Linux servers. Users of leading Web development tools, including JavaScript, Macromedia(R) Drumbeat(TM), Microsoft FrontPage 2000, and Visual InterDev(TM), and VBScript, can now easily develop and maintain dynamic Web applications, using Active Server Pages for live database connectivity, that leverage the rapidly-growing installed base of Linux servers at both ISP and corporate sites.

Web applications, based upon Active Server Pages, have historically been deployed only on Microsoft Internet Information Servers running on Windows NT(TM). Today, Chili!Soft ASP extends this leading Web application platform to include support for Linux. Chili!Soft previously announced ASP support for other Unix platforms, including HP-UX HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family.
