Childtime Learning Centers opens three new childcare centers.

The centers are located in suburban Phoenix (Gilbert, Ariz.); suburban Albany (Clifton Park, N.Y.); and suburban Dallas (Lewisville, Texas Lewisville is a city in Denton County and Dallas County, Texas (USA). As of the 2000 census the city had a total population of 77,737. With strong population growth continuing into the new millennium, the U.S. Census Bureau gives a 2006 population estimate of 94,589. ).

Each of the centers has a capacity for 130 to 150 children and offers programs for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and before/after school children.

"Our plan has been to grow by 25 to 30 centers a year over the next five years through the development of new build-to-suit centers, by acquisitions of existing centers, or the managing of employer-sponsored centers," says Childtime President and Chief Executive Officer Harold Lewis. "These new centers fit well with our growth objectives."

Since the beginning of its '97 fiscal year on March 30, Childtime has grown by a total of seven centers. Three additional centers are currently under construction.

Lewis said the company, which made a public offering of its stock on Feb. 2, has experienced significant growth in the past two years, expanding from 128 centers to 181.

Childtime employs over 4,000 professional educators and child care providers, and provides a vital service to approximately 20,000 children and their parents in 14 states and the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States). .

Childtime reported revenue of $65.6 million for fiscal year '96, up from $55.3 million in '95 and up 27 percent from sales in fiscal year '94. Childtime is home-based in Farmington Hills.
