The Pepsi Bottling Group Partners with Westchester Library System

for Bring Your Child to Work Day

In celebration of the nationally recognized Bring Your Child to Work Day, The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. (NYSE: PBG) will host more than 200 children today at their corporate headquarters in Somers, N.Y., for a day of educational, fun and interactive activities.

Children will learn about the Company's operations and how their parents spend their day at work, while also learning about the different ways a large corporation gives back to the community. This year, the day's activities will include a special focus on "Family Literacy."

Children of PBG employees will participate in activities to benefit the Youth Services Department of the Westchester Library System (WLS). The children will decorate 250 canvas book bags that will be distributed to various Westchester County libraries, including those in Greenburgh, Mount Vernon, Peekskill, Port Chester and Yonkers. Each bag will contain a new book, school memory book and school supplies.

The PBG Foundation will present a $5,000 donation to the Westchester Library System. The donation will assist the WLS promote reading as a fun activity for children. The book bags will be distributed to local first- and second-graders who sign up for their first library card at special events hosted by the local libraries during the summer. At each event, participating children will have the opportunity to become familiar with the Children's Room at each library and enroll in the Summer Reading Game program, which promotes and supports reading during the summer months.

Throughout the day, the children will also be introduced to other departments within the Company. Small groups will rotate to the following presentations:

     -   Making the Commercial: Children will learn how their favorite
         Pepsi commercials are made and get to "appear" in a Britney
         Spears commercial;

     -   Tap Water vs. Aquafina: Children will learn about the
         scientific difference between tap water and bottled water;

     -   Safety at Home: Safety precautions presented by PBG's senior
         safety manager and a local firefighter;

     -   How are the Drinks Made and Sold? Learning how to make and
         sell carbonated soft drinks.

"Take Our Daughters to Work Day" was introduced in April 1993 and now is celebrated annually on a national level. The Pepsi Bottling Group has expanded this nationally celebrated day to include sons as well as daughters.
