Children's VIP tour.YOUNGSTERS from a popular youth club enjoyed a VIP visit to an historic town hall. More than 30 children, with parents and youth helpers, were given a tour of South Shields South Shields, city (1991 pop. 86,488), South Tyneside, NE England, at the mouth of the Tyne River. It is a significant port. Shipbuilding and marine engineering are the main industries; chemicals and paints are manufactured. After the tour and a chat about the council and democracy, the mayor answered questions.
