Childbirth educators--promote your classes. (Go Ask ALACE).

As an independent Childbirth Educator, do you have a difficult time explaining your classes to those who inquire about them?

Many pregnant women go to a careprovider who give them information about hospital-based classes. It's sad to say, but most expectant parents do not even know that they have a choice in the type and quality of childbirth education that you have to offer.

We have designed a brochure (see pages 7-8) that can help you get the word out about your classes and will also help people to understand the value of independent childbirth classes. We have left room on the back of the brochure for you to write in your contact information, or attach your business card. You can leave copies of this brochure at health food stores, libraries, doctor's offices, yoga studies, as weld as with local midwives and other colleagues in the birth field. You can also use this brochure at local health fairs or conferences--both great ideas for venues to promote your classes, as well as the concept of independent classes in general.

We will be sending this brochure to people who contact the ALACE office looking for either a labor assistant or childbirth educator in their area. This will help educate consumers about the availability of independent childbirth classes, as well as their potential benefits.
