 -- Illegal trafficking of children is an industry that is believed to generate $10 billion a year, UNICEF UNICEF (y`nĭsĕf'), the United Nations Children's Fund, an affiliated agency of the United Nations.  Executive Director Carol Bellamy Carol Bellamy, (born January 14 1942), has been Director of the United States Peace Corps, Executive Director of UNICEF, and President and CEO of World Learning. Education and Peace Corps Service  stated as she urged countries around the world to do more to stop trade, which rivals the drug and arms trade.

The children are exploited as domestics, factory workers, and in the sex commerce. Countries can "make decisions that ensure the protection of children, or they can make decisions that leave children vulnerable to being exploited and abused," she added.
