Child porn dad on net ban.

A DAD has been banned from the internet after police found child pornography on his computer.

Father-of-five Phillip Hartfield, 53, is also prohibited from using a computer after he pleaded guilty to possessing 67 indecent pictures of children and eight films.

Officers discovered the pictures when they raided the home he shared with his wife in Sussex Gardens, Wallsend, on December 19.

Newcastle Crown Court heard 65 of the images were of level-one severity, with one each at levels four and five. Seven of the moving images were of level-four severity.

Shaun Routledge, mitigating, said Hartfield had shown "clear shame and remorse".

Judge John Evans sentenced him to nine months in prison, suspended for two years.

He also imposed the sexual offences prevention order and a supervision order.
