Child benefit clawback challenged in court.


TORONTO -- A group of Ontario parents who receive social assistance are taking the federal and provincial government to court on the clawback Clawback

1. Previously given monies or benefits that are taken back due to specially arising circumstances.

2. A retraction of stock prices or of the market in general.

 gives families with annual incomes under $22,615 approximately $115 per child per month. However, the Ontario government claws back all but $4.00 per month for each child from families on social assistance.

S. Constitution. ," says Cynthia Wilkey, staff lawyer with the Income Security Advocacy Centre, one of the groups representing social assistance recipients in the legal challenge. 416-597-5120
