With 43 years of experience on the dance scene, Lucinda Childs, member of Judson Dance Theater and well-known downtown dancer, makes for an interesting portrait on the silver screen. Filmmaker Patrick Bensard of La Cinematheque de la Danse has made her the subject of an eponymous documentary that includes interviews with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Philip Glass, and Yvonne Rainer. The film shows Childs in rehearsals with the Ballet de L'Opera du Rhin, for whom she is choreographing Stravinsky's Le Rossignol and his opera, Oedipus Rex.
