Noun 1. participants form 6 countries, altogether 34 of us boarded the air-con bus which would be our home for the next 4 days, Oct. 4-7. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] We stayed at Lakewood Hills Resort in Mae Taeng District, one-hour drive north of Chiengmai proper. The resort is own by General Sanchai Pundarikasawat. Our group spread out and occupied 3 houses in the area. When we woke up the next morning, the pristine pris·tine adj. 1. a. Remaining in a pure state; uncorrupted by civilization. b. Remaining free from dirt or decay; clean: pristine mountain snow. 2. air greeted us and literally called us to roam about the natural setting which was artistically arranged. Some 8-9 women practitioners at the resort flew in from Bangkok to prepare food for our group. Most grateful and Modhana Sadhu. We were very well taken care of and the General who was our host gave us a guided meditation meditation, religious discipline in which the mind is focused on a single point of reference. It may be a means of invoking divine grace, as in the contemplation by Christian mystics of a spiritual theme, question, or problem; or it may be a means of attaining on the night before we left for Chiengmai proper. General Sunthorn Sobhonsiri and his wife, Khunying Marasi invited the bhikkhunis to chant chant, general name for one-voiced, unaccompanied, liturgical music. Usually it refers to the liturgical melodies of the Byzantine, Russian Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Anglican churches and is analogous to cantillation in Jewish liturgical music, Qur'anic chanting the paritta for a house-warming ceremony. Ven.Dhammananda also was blessed for her 60th birthday with all the paritta chanting from the bhikkhunis. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] During our tour of Chiengmai, Wat Pa Darabhirom remained fondly in our memory. The artistic architectural style was highly appreciated.
