Chiefs bid for play cash.


CHILDREN'S play areas in South Tyneside South Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear in North East England.

New play areas are earmarked for Horsley Hill, South Shields South Shields, city (1991 pop. 86,488), South Tyneside, NE England, at the mouth of the Tyne River. It is a significant port. Shipbuilding and marine engineering are the main industries; chemicals and paints are manufactured. , and Hedworth, Jarrow, at a cost of pounds 200,000.

The bid also includes pounds 100,000 for a new community park in Boldon Colliery, where residents and ward councillors have been trying for years to improve facilities.
