Chief denies destroying Wright files; INQUEST.Byline: MIRROR REPORTER THE chief election officer yesterday denied being part of a plan to destroy prisoner files linked to Billy Wright. Douglas Bain, who had worked for the Prison Service, was giving evidence at the inquiry into Wright's 1997 murder. His family claim the files were destroyed in a coverup. Mr Bain said it happened without his knowledge.
