Chief Nursing Officer -- Securing The Future.

CHICAGO -- The nursing profession faces a serious staffing shortage with implications to hospital safety, quality of client care, cost and liability. Statistics consistently show a rapid increase in the national average of vacancies in RN/LPN positions. This is expected to grow from 13% to 29% by 2020. The situation is being compounded further by the gap between the number of available positions, the number of registered nurses qualified to give care and the higher acuity of patients.

The Chief Nursing Officer Conference -- July 18-19, 2005 -- will systematically offer senior nursing professionals the opportunity to gather and analyze the economics and threats of the RN staffing crisis. Furthermore, discussions will allow executives to analyze current recruitment, retention and training strategies to ensure that quality; qualified individuals are selected for this critical role. The evolving role of the CNO CNO
