Chief Justice Swears in New Thorndal Armstrong Attorneys.

Thorndal, Armstrong, Delk, Balkenbush & Eisinger is proud to announce that Chief Justice William Maupin, from Carson City Carson City, city (1990 pop. 40,443), state capital, W Nev., in the Eagle valley; inc. 1875. The city is a trade center for a mining and agricultural area. State government is the major employer, and tourism is economically important. , a former member of Thorndal Armstrong, presided over the swearing in ceremony for the newest members of the Firm, Patrick Orme and Phung (PJ) Jefferson.

The ceremony took place on Oct. 11, 2001 at Thorndal Armstrong's Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States.  office and was attended by the members of the Firm. Founding partner, John Thorndal, spoke briefly, welcoming the new attorneys.

Chief Justice William Maupin joined Thorndal Armstrong in 1978, serving as the president and Managing Partner for several years. In 1993, he was appointed by Gov. . In 1997, he was elected to the Nevada Supreme Court. Presently, he serves as the Court's Chief Justice.

Joining the insurance defense and construction defect law teams at Thorndal Armstrong, Patrick Orme was born in Salt Lake City. He received his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Utah The University of Utah (also The U or the U of U or the UU), located in Salt Lake City, is the flagship public research university in the state of Utah, and one of 10 institutions that make up the Utah System of Higher Education.  in 1995 and his J.D. at the University of Tulsa in 1999. Orme joined the firm in 2001 after previously practicing employment law in Oklahoma.

Also joining the insurance construction defect law team at Thorndal Armstrong, Phung Jefferson was born in South Vietnam South Vietnam: see Vietnam.  and came to the U.S. as a child. Jefferson attended UNLV UNLV University of Nevada, Las Vegas  in 1992, receiving her B.S. in Business Administration and then attended Western State University, College of Law, earning her J.D. in 1996.
