:TTXG) said today that, by mutual agreement, its Chief Executive Officer, John R. Stanley, had announced his resignation, effective March 14. Concurrently, Mr. Stanley, aged 63, also resigned from the Company's Board of Directors.

Arnold H. Brackenridge has been elected by TransTexas' Board of Directors to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Brackenridge has been President of the Company since 1993. From 1984 to 1992, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Wintershall Energy and prior to that President of Tricentrol Resources Inc. from 1980 and Vice President of Arco Oil & Gas until 1980. Mr. Brackenridge holds a BS in geology from McMaster University McMaster University, at Hamilton, Ont., Canada; nondenominational; founded 1887. It has faculties of humanities, science, social sciences, business, engineering, and health sciences, as well as a school of graduate studies and a divinity college. , Canada.
