WHAT: Chicago Urban League (CUL) President and CEO Cheryle Jackson
will announce the new course for the next generation of civil
rights at the organization during its 2007 annual luncheon on
Friday, February 9, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. In
moving the CUL forward, Jackson will unveil the organization's
new strategic plan; innovative programs; and partnerships with a
global corporation and one of Chicago's highly regarded academic
institutions.
The luncheon will mark a significant milestone for the CUL as it
moves to enhance the lives of African Americans in Chicago and
nationally through four key growth engines: entrepreneurship,
workforce diversity, commercial real estate development, and
education and advocacy.
Ms. Jackson made history in October 2006 when she became the
first woman to lead the Chicago Urban League in its 90-year
history.
