Chicago Police Department Launches TranTech's Innovative Video Interrogation System - CLEARView(TM).

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Industrial Strength CLEARView(TM) System Satisfies Legislative Compliance, Digital Asset Management, Scalability, and Collar-to-Conviction Integrity Issues

TranTech, Inc., in collaboration with the Chicago Police Department The Chicago Police Department, also known as the CPD, is the principal law enforcement agency of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States, under the jurisdiction of the city mayor.  (CPD CPD citrate phosphate dextrose; see anticoagulant citrate phosphate dextrose solution, under solution.

 System (VIS) designed exclusively for the Law Enforcement community. Based on TranTech's CLEARView(TM) system, the VIS complies with Illinois state law mandating audio/video recording of all homicide interrogations by ensuring a collar-to-conviction chain of custody The movement and location of physical evidence from the time it is obtained until the time it is presented in court.

Judges in bench trials and jurors in jury trials are obligated to decide cases on the evidence that is presented to them in court.
.

Designed and created specifically to meet the CPD's detailed requirements, TranTech's CLEARView(TM) VIS is a robust and scalable system that accommodates the physical and functional needs of small, medium, or large law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). . To meet the CPD's needs, TranTech built a system that accommodates fifty (50) interrogation rooms within six (6) precincts around the Chicago metropolitan area “Chicagoland” redirects here. , providing continuous audio/video recording for as long as forty-eight (48) continuous hours, and guarantees high speed digital media transmission to the CPD headquarters for permanent storage into its proprietary case management system, I-CLEAR.

TranTech's design incorporates a workflow process that is "officer friendly" and accommodates the CPD's standard operating procedures standard operating procedure Medtalk A technique, method or therapy performed 'by the book,' using a standard protocol meeting internally or externally defined criteria; a formal, written procedure that describes how specific lab operations are to be performed.  which mandate a design that:

--is easy to use;

--has fail-safe on/off controls; and

--insures a chain of custody.

TranTech's CLEARView(TM) VIS also provides an interrogation room control panel with a digital display; an attorney/client privilege switch that temporarily stops audio/video recording yet monitors the time clock; and a night vision camera that continues to record a video, even if the lights have been turned off.

"Law enforcement agencies across the country are looking to digital recording to solve a range of issues, from compliance with new laws, to employing more efficient and effective interrogation and evidence collection processes. They realize that a properly designed system eliminates headaches associated with creating, tracking, and storing CDs or VHS (Video Home System) A half-inch, analog videocassette recorder (VCR) format introduced by JVC in 1976 to compete with Sony's Betamax, introduced a year earlier.  cartridges. They also understand that metadata (details about the recording) are critical to detectives, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and others to ensure the content is accurate and tamper-proof. Finally, they expect the solution to be budget friendly. Our system meets every expectation," said Mark Wells, TranTech's Director of Technology.
