Chicago Organizations Join Forces to Support Local Charity 2006 Acronym Holiday Bash Scheduled For December 12.CHICAGO -- Chicago's most prominent marketing, advertising and public relations trade associations have come together to host the 2006 Acronym Holiday Bash, a networking event that, in addition to spreading holiday cheer among business communicators, raises money for Chicago Tribune Holiday Giving. Proceeds from the event will enhance the campaign's efforts to benefit the community by funding programs to help at-risk children and families develop reading and literacy skills and alleviate hunger. The fifth annual Acronym Holiday Bash, which will be held on December 12, 2006 at the House of Blues House of Blues (HOB) is a chain of music halls and restaurants founded in 1992 by Hard Rock Cafe founder Isaac Tigrett and his friend and investor Dan Aykroyd. It is a home for live music and southern-inspired cuisine, whose clubs celebrate African-American culture, specifically Back Porch Restaurant, and will be hosted by the following professional communications organizations: AMA (Automatic Message Accounting) The recording and reporting of telephone calls within a telephone system. "The 2005 Acronym Holiday Bash yielded a donation of $3,162 to Chicago Holiday Giving, a campaign of Chicago Tribune Charities, and we hope to meet or exceed that amount in 2006!" The original concept for the event was the brainchild of Gary Slack, president of Slack Barshinger, and then-president of the Business Marketing Association's Chicago chapter. According to Slack, the idea was to combine resources by holding a joint holiday party with all the organizations, while at the same time, creating a more powerful mechanism to raise money for charity. "The annual Acronym Holiday Bash has proven to be a wonderful example of collaboration among several of Chicago's leading marketing, advertising, direct marketing, and public relations organizations," adds Buckley. "The event is a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the holidays and meet new people in the business community." The 2006 Acronym Bash will take place December 12, 2006 at the House of Blues Back Porch Restaurant, 329 N.
