Chicago O'Hare Universal Air Cargo Access Project Honored at CardTech/SecurTech '99.

The system, as explained by Loney, combines both smart cards and biometrics for use in authenticating truck drivers via their fingerprints when they deliver cargo to the airport. Concluding her acceptance speech, Commissioner Loney stated proudly that if it works at O'Hare, it will work anywhere.

During one of the key conference sessions at CardTech/SecurTech '99, Assistant Commissioner James E. Sachay from O'Hare airport, presented details of the system, additional pilots underway, and a documentary video about the award-winning program.
