Chicago Designer Claims Copyright Infringement; FAO Schwarz Handed TRO in Federal Court.

 Tripp-Kampf, a Chicago-based product designer and brand specialist, she was awarded a Temporary Restraining Order temporary restraining order: see injunction.  (TRO TRO - tail recursion optimisation ) by Federal District Court Judge David H. Coar, who found that Tripp-Kampf and her company, Tripp Design, Ltd., were likely to succeed in their claim that FAO Schwarz infringed on their copyrighted lunchbox design. The design was a key feature in the newly branded line of products designed by Tripp-Kampf.

Further proceedings are scheduled.

"The infringement was originally discovered by my eight-year-old daughter, Natalie, while she was paging through the FAO 2003 Christmas catalog," said Tripp-Kampf.
