) today announced the availability of ServerSuite 2.0 for NetWare, a tightly integrated bundling of Cheyenne's market-leading ARCserve 6 for NetWare storage management, InocuLAN 4.0 anti-virus, and FAXserve 3.01 communications software (communications, software) communications software - Application programs, operating system components, and probably firmware, forming part of a communication system. These different software components might be classified according to the functions within the Open Systems . ServerSuite 2.0 for NetWare is the ideal, cost-effective solution for small businesses seeking to easily manage, protect, and facsimile files residing on local area networks (LANs). ServerSuite 2.0 for NetWare also represents a supreme value for small businesses; its suggested retail price is $995, or 60% less than purchasing ARCserve, FAXserve, and InocuLAN for NetWare individually, based on each product's suggested retail price.

"Small businesses are just as susceptible to network crashes, corrupted data, and virus infections that can plague larger corporations. However, small companies often can't afford or are not aware of the robust storage management and communications solutions typically used by larger businesses," said Wayne Lam, vice president and general manager of Cheyenne's NetWare Division. "With ServerSuite 2.0, Cheyenne is applying its enterprise software expertise to fulfill the data protection and communications needs of small businesses. ServerSuite 2.0 includes a single, easy-to-install CD containing three integrated NetWare solutions: ARCserve, InocuLAN, and FAXserve."

Each product on ServerSuite 2.0 was developed with the others in mind. For instance, ARCserve 6 for NetWare, the world's leading storage management solution, can leverage InocuLAN 4.0's anti-virus engine to ensure virus-free backups and restores of business data. InocuLAN is certified by the National Computer Security Association to detect 100 percent of viruses in the wild. InocuLAN protects a NetWare server, and up to 25 DOS, Windows, Windows 95, Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. , rnd Macintosh workstations from virtually all viruses, including the latest strains of macro viruses.

"Cheyenne's ServerSuite 2.0 is the answer for customers requiring end- to-end solutions in a single package," said Jeffrey Leventhal, president of Remote Lojix, a Cheyenne reseller. "And the unique integration among the products yields unmatched performance. By scanning files for viruses only during the estimation phase of the ARCserve backup, InocuLAN eliminates the CPU CPU

Each product in ServerSuite 2.0 is also NetWare certified and fully compliant with Novell Directory Services See NDS.  (NDS See eDirectory.

). This allows ARCserve 6 for NetWare to backup and restore NDS and its extended schema, and ensures seamless operation with the world's fastest-selling network operating system An operating system that is designed for network use. Normally, it is a complete operating system with file, task and job management; however, with some earlier products, it was a separate component that ran under the OS; for example, LAN Server required OS/2, and LANtastic required DOS.  (NOS). Similarly, Cheyenne and Novell are working to integrate FAXserve with Novell Inc.'s GroupWise and forthcoming GroupWise XTD messaging and groupware packages. This work, as announced in February, is slated for completion by the end of this year.

Pricing & Availability

ServerSuite 2.0 for NetWare is available now for $995 (suggested retail price). ServerSuite 2.0 for NetWare includes 25-user licenses for ARCserve 6 for NetWare and InocuLAN 4.0 for NetWare, an InocuLAN Client Pack to protect 25 workstations, and a five-user license for FAXserve 3.01.
