ChevronTexaco Corporation Remains Committed to Community.

With the merger of Texaco and Chevron, two of the world's best known energy companies have taken on a new name, ChevronTexaco Corporation, and become the world's fourth largest international petroleum company. With an ongoing commitment to the communities in which they do business and their customers worldwide, the new company will remain an active corporate citizen.

"We are committed to the welfare and prosperity of the communities where we live and work," says Rod Spackman, manager of public and government affairs in the L.A. basin.

ChevronTexaco Corporation will continue to encourage its employees to volunteer their personal and company time to a number of community service programs. Global, diverse and skilled, the ChevronTexaco Corporation workforce numbers approximately 53,000 worldwide.

"Through our charitable contributions, employee involvement, community and environmental programs, we work continuously to create a more productive and enriched society," says Spackman. "Being a good neighbor is an essential part of our corporate vision."

Examples of community service include School Pride Day through which employees dedicate a full-day to cleaning, painting and sprucing up a local school. The company provides all needed supplies. Other employees volunteer with preservation of Yosemite National Park or have run in marathons to raise funds for breast cancer research.
