From 1911 until 1996, nearly 1,000 issues of the Texaco-sponsored Lubrication were produced. With its in-depth coverage and analysis of relevant issues in the lubricant field, Lubrication was viewed as an important source of knowledge for individuals working in or studying the lubrication industry. Its subscribers included lubrication experts, maintenance managers, marketers, academics, original equipment operators, commercial & industrial accounts, government personnel and end-users.

The relaunched Lubrication, which features an article on the "Evolution of Base Oil Technology" in its first issue, will be produced on a quarterly basis. When a new issue is launched, an executive summary of the featured article will appear on LubricantsUniversity.com. Visitors interested in reading the entire article may download the current issue, with the option of downloading a text-only or enhanced version of the article upon completing an online registration form.

ChevronTexaco maintains an extensive library of Texaco-branded archives of Lubrication. The back issues are currently stored on disk and may be accessed by subscribers or by visitors to the site for a nominal fee, which will be waived during the introductory period. Subscribers will soon be offered additional benefits such as discounted online courses offered through Lubricants University and supplements to the magazine.
