Chevron Utilizes inSORS Grid to Support Real Time Collaboration in Deepwater Discovery.

HOUSTON -- inSORS Integrated Communications, a Chicago-based multimedia collaboration software developer, supports collaboration in Chevron's Tahiti and Blind Faith fields through the installation of a powerful inSORS Grid IG2 collaboration network connecting field engineers, geophysicists, and other knowledge workers in the Houston office. Chevron utilizes inSORS systems on three deepwater drill ships - the Discoverer Deep Seas, the Cajun Express, and the Ensco 7500 - with more coming soon. Additionally, the Blind Faith and Tahiti production platforms will include IG2 systems supporting engineering and emergency response collaboration.

inSORS Grid IG2 enables personnel on each drill ship to connect with dedicated collaboration rooms in Houston to quickly discuss and resolve issues and make timely decisions thereby reducing costly delays. With a daily cost of operating each drill of approximately $500,000 and the tremendous potential revenue stream from production, any delay or suboptimal decision must be avoided.

inSORS IG2 is a state-of-the-art software-based system that supports a highly scalable, geographically distributed collaboration environment. IG2 utilizes globally distributed inSORS Unified Collaboration Grid servers optimize that any IP connection for client endpoints while managing long-haul connections between regions. IG2 Node (client endpoint) software supports any Windows or Macintosh computer with form factors ranging from handhelds to large conference rooms, command centers, and auditoriums.
