Chesapeake Sciences Corp., Millersville, Md., is being awarded an $8,395,463 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to exercise an option under contract N00024-00-C-6230 for 59,397 man-hours of engineering development and technical services in support of the affordable towed array construction, Small Business Innovative Research Phase III Noun 1. phase III - a large clinical trial of a treatment or drug that in phase I and phase II has been shown to be efficacious with tolerable side effects; after successful conclusion of these clinical trials it will receive formal approval from the FDA  Program. Work will be performed in Chesapeake, Va. (50%), and Greensboro, N.C. (50%), and is expected to be completed by December 2002. Contract funds will not expire expire /ex·pire/ (ek-spi´er)
