stock by affiliates which it believes are misleading.

These reports indicated that Newstar Group, Inc., a principal shareholder of Cherokee, and Robert Robert, Henry Martyn 1837-1923.

American army engineer and parliamentary authority. He designed the defenses for Washington, D.C., during the Civil War and later wrote Robert's Rules of Order (1876).

Noun 1.
Margolis Margolis is a surname, and may refer to:
  • Char Margolis, spiritualist
  • Cindy Margolis, model
  • Eric Margolis, journalist
  • Gwen Margolis, first woman president of the Florida Senate
  • Harry Margolis, tax lawyer
  • Leo Margolis, Canadian parasitologist
, chief executive officer of Cherokee, sold substantial amounts of Cherokee stock. The misleading reports were apparently based on forms filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding changes in beneficial ownership of shares of Cherokee stock held by Newstar Group, Inc., an S-Corporation of which Margolis and four other persons are the shareholders.

Cherokee clarified that those SEC forms relate to transfers of shares of Cherokee stock by Newstar Group, Inc., to its shareholders and do not reflect sales of Cherokee stock to persons other than the shareholders of Newstar Group, Inc.

Margolis confirmed that neither he nor any of the other shareholders of Newstar Group, Inc. has sold any of the shares of Cherokee stock which were transferred to them. He said that the shares were simply transferred from corporate ownership to individual ownership and that the transfers were fully disclosed in forms which were timely filed with the SEC.

Cherokee Inc., based in Van Nuys, a marketer and licenser of Cherokee brand products, continues its global negotiations for licensing contracts and currently has 28 continuing licensing agreements worldwide covering an ever-increasing range of products.
