Igor Kostin Igor Fedorovich Kostin (born 27 December 1936 in Bessarabia, Greater Romania) was the only photographer in the world to take pictures of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster near Pripyat in Ukraine, on 26 April 1986 - the day of the worst nuclear accident in history.

 journalist Igor Kostin, who braved severe radiation to take the only existing photograph of the Chernobyl plant on the day of its catastrophic destruction, Chernobyl: Confessions of a Reporter is a compilation of black-and-white and color photographs that Kostin continued to take for twenty years TWENTY YEARS. The lapse of twenty years raises a presumption of certain facts, and after such a time, the party against whom the presumption has been raised, will be required to prove a negative to establish his rights.
