(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :CHE) today announced that the board of directors has named Lawrence J. Gillis, age 61, a vice president of Chemed and elected him to serve on the board. Gillis continues to serve as president of the Roto-Rooter Services Co. subsidiary of Chemed. Gillis has more than 30 years of experience with Roto-Rooter, beginning as a franchise owner in Minneapolis. In 1983, he joined Roto-Rooter Services Co. as the Midwest regional manager. In 1991, Gillis was named senior vice president of operations, and in 1994, he assumed his current position as president. Gillis holds a B.S. degree from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minn.
