Chemed Names McNamara CEO; Hutton Remains Chairman; Additional Promotions Announced.

:CHE) has named President Kevin J. McNamara, 48, to the additional post of Chief Executive Officer of the company. Edward L. Hutton, 82, remains active as Chairman of Chemed.

In addition, the Board promoted Sandra E. Laney, 57, to an Executive Vice President and David J. Bauer, 39, to an Assistant Vice President of the company.

Mr. Hutton has served Chemed as its Chief Executive Officer since its initial public offering in 1971. A director of Chemed and Omnicare Inc. (NYSE:OCR OCR

Mr. McNamara joined Chemed as a staff attorney in 1980 and was elected Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary in 1986. In 1992, he was promoted to Vice Chairman of Chemed and in 1993, to Executive Vice President, while retaining the titles of General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. McNamara was elected President of Chemed in 1994. Mr. McNamara holds a bachelor's degree from Denison University and earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School The Cornell Law School was formally opened in 1887, but was moved to its present-day location at Myron Taylor Hall in 1937. Ms. Laney joined Chemed in 1974 and was elected an Assistant Vice President of the company in 1982. She was promoted to a Vice President in 1984 and Senior Vice President in 1993. The CAO is one of the highest ranking members of an organization, managing daily operations and usually reporting directly to the chief executive  in 1991 and continues in that capacity. Mr. Bauer joined Chemed's former DuBois Chemicals subsidiary as a staff accountant in 1985 and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 1989. He transferred to Chemed headquarters in 1990 and was promoted to Assistant Manager of Financial/Benefits Administration. He continues in that capacity. Mr. Bauer holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati The University of Cincinnati is a coeducational public research university in Cincinnati, Ohio.
