Scientists and information specialists frequently combine fee-based resources from CAS such as STN (SuperTwisted Nematic) A passive matrix LCD technology that provides better contrast than twisted nematic (TN) by twisting the molecules from 180 to 270 degrees. See DSTN.  and free resources from the Web. The idea behind eScience is to provide a more integrated approach to those activities. For example, scientists can use STN Easy to search a collection of scientific databases, then, with a click of the mouse, use eScience services such as ChemIndustry.com to extend their search to the Web.

eScience will also provide links to relevant scientific resources including C & E News, the New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Times, Reuters and Yellowbrix. CAS plans to make eScience available to users of SciFinder, SciFinder Scholar and STN products by year-end.

ChemIndustry.com currently has nearly 36,000 distinct Web sites and approximately 5 million pages of fully indexed information in its primary database, making it the largest specialized search service for chemical and closely-related industry professionals on the Web.
